Does anyone have some money i could borrow?

I just don't see much difference in terms of the damage done to the middle/lower class. The money printing was a quiet, deadly form of inflation which never should have happened. "Put your money in this mutual fund earning 6-8% APR while we behind-the-scenes debase your currency at 15% ARP? And if you were in cash, then you got destroyed. When Obama kicked this off full blast, our country was also pulling in more tax revenue than ever before. We need better options in DC.
Better stop. You're making too much sense. People like DeeDave enjoy arguing in circles about things we'll never get the complete answer to - such as Jan. 6 and the election. He tames his "inner lion" through keyboard battles.

I saw video of them closing down the polling stations, sending everyone home, pulling trunks out from under the table.

I saw that video as well- almost everyone did. It was promoted by Rudy Giuliani which immediately should have caused anyone with common sense to doubt the video was what people were claiming it to be.

This is the result of people watching videos online- that have never been involved in ballot counting making assumptions that just so happen to favor their preferred candidate. (Notice these assumptions NEVER favor their preferred candidate- it' always- 100% of the time goes against their preferred candidate. That's one amazing coincidence.)

More importantly, there are actually some high profile election law attorneys in Georgia that are Republicans- that DID NOT join in on the over the top claims and did not get involved in the disputes over the election in Georgia. There is a reason those folks didn't want to be involved in these claims.

The people making the claims had no idea what they were looking at - nothing to compare it to - didn't explain that the "trunks" were the same ones that were used in 2018, 2016, 2014, 2012, etc..

When I read the explanations from elections officials- I realized there was nothing to it but conspiracy theory nonsense.

  • Georgia election officials, including Republican voting system implementation manager Gabriel Sterling, publicly disputed claims that the video shows fraudulent activity.
  • Officials said that there was never an instruction for observers to leave, and that there were no suitcases full of ballots. The bins in the video were standard ballot containers, and the footage shows what officials described as the normal tabulation process.

Here is a local news investigation into the claims- with the same result.

Another discussion point: You can learn almost anything on the internet now for free. YouTube and Reddit have everything you really need to learn any trade, regardless of your education level. Top Universities also offer courses for free in most every subject now. Elon Musk has stated something similar.

This begs the question: When do we cross the line between it being a resources issue versus a motivation issue? Almost all of America has access to the internet. If you failed out early in school and have comprehension issues, learn a trade like Tiling - for example. Pays well and you can work for someone until you can work for yourself. Construction jobs are endless.

No doubt. Many people do just that. But of course there is a limit there too. Having 36 plumbers in a small town isn't the greatest avenue to a solid, middle class life.

But I get your point.

For some people it is a motivation issue. Some people don't want to do certain jobs because 1) they aren't good at it, 2) aren't interested in it 3) don't want to work for themselves because they have no business skills or personal skills that are required of a business owner, etc)

But motivation is a key I think.

I did vote for Biden though because of Trump. I would have voted for random guy on the street over Trump.
Same here. If the Republicans want my vote in 2024, they will not nominate Trump. And I don't believe they will nominate him again, no matter what the politico so-called experts say. But, you never know, I suppose. I like Rubio, Christie, and Sasse. Also Kasich.

Gamecock Grad Josh Dawey writing for the Washington Post this weekend noted Trump told Republican donors in New Orleans that the US Air Force should put Ukrainan Flags on our F-22s and bomb Russian forces and blame China for it.

Apparently the brilliant thinking here is that Russia would just look at the Ukrainan flags on f-22s and accept our allegations that China bombed them. Makes perfect sense if you have a mental problem.

The former president also referred to Kim Jong Un as "seriously tough" and "absolutely the leader of that country,"

Yes, when you are dictator and have killed thousands of your own citizens, I guess that means you are "seriously tough and "absolutely the leader" to some folks.

You are wrong but that's not new. LOL
Naturally, you're wrong again.

I just look at your claims and take the opposing point of view. That makes me correct at least 95% of the time. Congratulations on being correct 5% of the time. That makes your opinions worth a nickel. Anyway, I don't know if you disagree with me because you are dumb or because you are a liar. I mean, you are constantly wrong, so you may be dumb, but you lack integrity i.e., your racism, so you could just be lying. It's always a tough one to figure out when talking to a liberal.

The President and leader of your party told GOP voters the voting system was rigged in Georgia.

Democrats are thankful for that level of stupidity.

Yeah, idiot, I said they didn't turn out as well in the runoff. And the GOP is not my party, although I do vote for GOP candidates quite a bit. As I am not a contemptible goon or a mentally pliable dimwit, however, I do not vote for the terrorists that are teeming within your party. And it is your party, you liar.

Liberalism is a mental disorder, once you figure that out you will understand that any rational or logical conversation you attempt to have with one is futile.

Another interesting observation is that all of the liberals that I know well, which is approximately a dozen, EVERY single one of them is on some psychiatric prescribed drug. Whether it be for anxiety, mood swings or some other disorder, it’s telling to say the least!

Joetato does it again. $4.17 a gallon national average. A new record.

Given the same circumstances under our previous President, the MSM would be losing their tiny little minds. Hopefully a few of those supposed 81 million that got fooled into voting for this fool will wake up and see the light.

From your own link:

"11Alive was able to determine that this part is true. The media and the party monitors were not given notice that counting would continue into the early morning hours and they should have been. "

That's a shady way of saying they were told counting was done, and the counting wasn't done. Everybody didn't just magically decide to leave all at once. They were told that counting was done for the night. After they left, they started counting again.

And let's not forget about the "burst pipe" on election night that halted vote counting. Nobody can find any proof it ever happened. No pictures. No invoice for repair. Nothing. A favorite play for the dems, especially in Florida. Find a reason to delay counting in large, urban Dem controlled areas and wait for the rest of the state to turn in their numbers. Then magically, when they do start counting again, they come up with just enough votes for their guy to win.

This isn't even circumstantial evidence - it's just random circumstances. This particular type of election fraud (which supposedly took place across the country) would have needed thousands of conspirators to pull off. Any yet, not one whistle blower, not a single communication found, not any evidence of any kind. And you have places like Arizona, which had a firm hired by conservatives to investigate - and they found nothing, and in fact Biden should have received a few more votes.

It's over, dude. It's a conspiracy gone the way of "#Savethechildren."

On an aside to everyone, if you know anyone who ever believed that Wayfair was selling children, please make fun of them as much as possible. They deserve it.

I would imagine the South's cheaper gas is a result of the cost of living, wouldn't you? And the percentage of a wage going to gas is roughly the same everywhere right? Anyway, I think that's how the market works.
Not necessarily. There are rural parts of the Midwest and west where the cost of living is similar to the South and yet they pay more for gas.

Then there’s the whole supply and demand thing. And you are aware that there is no such thing as a flat percentage of wage going to gas. You may have some knowledge on the market, but you’re conveniently leaving out other factors of that same market.

It was $2.97 a gallon then. Today it hit $4.00 a gallon on the way to beating the all time high of $4.11 a gallon.

And, no it's not a "bad look" to complain when it's the incompetence of this administration that caused this. Between their ignorance in energy policy and cowardice in foreign policy, nobody should be surprised.
Remind me why I should feel bad for overcompensating Kyle who decided to buy a Hummer or jacked up pick up truck as a gas guzzler and now wants to complain about the price of gas. It’s like going to a fancy restaurant and then complaining about the tip.

Biden didn't inherit anything. He's only been in Washington for HALF A CENTURY. He played a big part in all these disasters for a long time. He is the swamp creature GOAT.
My guess is you aren’t blaming Lindsey Graham for his role in this. He’s been in Washington a while. I’m sure he could change it tomorrow!

I'm sure it cost more to get that gas to those western locations... especally now. And in the case of rural areas, less competition equals higher prices

I'll never understand people's obsession with gas prices. It's a meaningless metric for anything except the cost of barrels of oil worldwide. And because it's a worldwide metric, world events affect the prices. But it doesn't really have anything to do with our government, our economy, etc.

Let's say we were "oil independent" (energy independence is a whole other thing). But say oil independent and all our oil comes from the US - how much would a barrel of oil cost in the US right now? $123, same as the rest of the world. That's because the market dictates the price, not our government. I suppose we could have the government take over the oil industry in America, like they did in Venezuela, but that's not exactly free-market capitalism is it?

Complaining about gas prices seems to be the result of some sort of Boomer PTSD from the oil crises in the 70's.

What you need reminding of is that almost all Americans are not "overcompensating Kyles with a Hummer". Doubling gas prices has far more reaching effects. EVs are expensive and short in supply, and most are still charged by electricity generated from fossil fuels. And many families can't drive econobox.

And the point is that it is totally unnecessary. An idiot-made problem that didn't have to happen.

EV's do get most of their energy from fossil fuels, but not from crude oil. It's only the US's obsession with combustion-engine cars that makes our country rely on oil so much.

Natural gas, coal, nuclear and renewables give energy to our power grid - and thus EV's. Take out combusion engines in most cars and trucks and the US will never import another barrel of oil again.

Agreed. Fuel prices drive up costs more than just your personal purchases at the pump too.

If we’re perfectly honest there were a series of Presidents both Democrat and Republican that could have made a move toward being more energy independent. Think of where we would be now if we would have started this in the 1960s or 70s.

This country just hasn’t seen that as important because for a long time the oil was so cheap. But the price we pay is being hamstrung when the supply runs low but our demand is high.

Higher gas prices has been the goal of this administration all along. They used it thinking it would force a change in behavior and make their green deal look more appealing. They can deny it all they want but they are the ones who got the dominos to fall.
Simply another policy blunder... like every other policy they have tried to implement.

So narrow minded, do you even realize fossil fuels power 80% of our economy, including almost all Transportation costs. You think just “Kyle” will suffer, are you really that uninformed. Every single thing you purchase will be affected by increases in oil and gas prices, everything.

Oh and natural gas has spiked up 60%, what is that used for genius? Are you looking for a new “Kyle” to not feel sorry for or do you even know that affects every single household.

It says a lot about the level of understanding when a person buys an ev and thinks they don't have to worry about gas prices anymore.

But don't conflate all "fossil fuels" with "crude oil."

Fossil fuels do power our electric grid, but none of that is from crude oil. Crude oil is only in our combustion engines - the vast majority of which are in the form of personal vehicles.

2020 taught us - reduce demand, prices will go down. Of course it was an artificial dip in demand with the lockdown, but facts are facts. Of course we'll always need crude oil - we aren't going to have electric engine technology efficient or safe enough for huge machinery, tractor-trailers, air planes, etc. - probably in our lifetimes. However, even hybrid technology (which is decades old and working), is a start to reducing demand.
