In-State 4-Star Jordan Butler Commits To Mizzou

I suppose there's a first time for everything. As I mentioned in the Ask Caleb thread this week the source that Gamecock Scoop talked to about Jordan Butler that made me confident enough to put in a futurecast for the 6'10 4-star had yet to be wrong. That said, Butler had a strong relationship with Mizzou Coach CY Young, and it would seem that was too much to overcome for Lamont Paris and his staff.

As we got closer to the announcement, I mentioned that both staff's felt confident in landing Butler, and from what I've been able to gather, Butler didn't tell either staff one way or another prior to announcing on his Instagram live. Lamont Paris and staff will have to regroup as they turn their in-state focus to 2024's Cam Scott, but there's no doubt that this one stings a bit as yet another highly rated in-state player chooses to go elsewhere, despite the progress and inroads Paris and co. seem to be making on the recruiting trail in the Palmetto State following the 2022 signing of G.G. Jackson.

I also apologize for leading any of you astray, I always put in futurecasts based on a number of factors, but try not to throw optimistic takes out there willy nilly. Swing and a miss for me on this one.

Great Win For The Cocks

We needed that win bad for confidence for our players and fans and we got it. I dont care who the QB was gonna be last night , this was a different team with an attitude, finally. We This is a hard school aint no world beaters yet but we made a step forward and that looks good to recruits and thats what we need. If they give Beamer some time he will build us a program like SOS had. This is a hard place to recruit at and an SEC schedule that makes it even harder to win but The Shane Train will get it done here and we will be back.

Report: Will Levis 'questionable' for Saturday against South Carolina

Report coming in from Kentucky Sports Radio's Matt Jones regarding the status of Kentucky starting quarterback Will Levis.

Levis suffered a finger injury against Ole Miss, but still finished the game. Seems like this might be unrelated to that, though.

Kentucky's backup quarterbacks are Kaiya Sheron and Deuce Hogan, neither of whom have thrown a pass in 2022.

Representing South Carolina in men's basketball SEC media day

South Carolina will be sending Hayden Brown and GG Jackson to the SEC media days. I am glad they selected South Carolina as the school they want to attend, but how about send Jacob Wright in place for one of these guys. Wright got to experience last season what it is like to play in the SEC and he did not bolt and transfer after South Carolina' s basketball season was over. Coach Paris temporary earns the boo birds on the decision

This teams biggest problem is the players themselves....

I see dropped balls, missed blocking assignments, not picking up blitzes, fumbles, thrown interceptions. I love JUJU but he is a mismatch picking up blitzes. He better get better at technique fast! On defense we are NOT squaring off the corners on runs, taking bad angles, and just too soft right up the damn middle of our DL. If our DT's get double teamed they give up too much ground. It forces the linebackers to fill a bigger gap. Our defensive tackles don't attack. That would force them to be in tip top shape. They aren't. Look at the DT's in the NFL. They create pressure up the middle which allows the DE's and LB's to mop up. I have been disappointed in Pickens. I thought he would be a war daddy but I just haven't seen him disrupt at all. Our defense plays like a bunch of pussies right now. They need to start wearing pink socks and maybe put some eyeliner on before the game.
