Brief update on 2024 No. 2 punter in nation Bobby Engstler's workout with special teams coach Pete Lembo in Columbia last weekend

Bobby Engstler, (Lawton Chiles High School, Tallahassee, Florida), is the No. 2 ranked punter in the Class of 2024, according to KohlsKicking.com, a top scouting source for kickers and punters. He remains uncommitted.

Engstler was on hand in Columbia to work out with South Carolina special teams coordinator and associate head coach Pete Lembo last weekend, where he was able to try his hands at some punts with the coach at Williams-Brice Stadium.

"It was amazing. I loved working with Coach Lembo. He gives me great advice. I feel like he's already my coach," the punter told me.

A Gamecock Fan’s Perfect Saturday

Gamecocks move to regional championship with a 2 game advantage.

Clemson loses to an SEC school and blows through several pitchers setting up 1-2 Sunday elimination games with very little rest.

The Gamecocks bracket pairing, #2 seed Florida goes down to Texas Tech, creating a possibility that South Carolina could host a super if the cards continue to fall in this direction.

How you folks feeling out there? Will today be even better?

NCAA Regionals Recap and What's Left

Columbia:
South Carolina over Campbell in the regional final. South Carolina dominated Campbell's thinly-stretched pitching staff on Sunday. Gavin Casas was named the regional MVP.

Winston-Salem:
Wake Forest did not nothing to cast doubt on their status as a #1 seed. While Maryland and George Mason aren't murders' row, Wake won their three regional games by a combined score of 48-7.

Tuscaloosa:
Bama will head to Winston-Salem after winning a rain soaked regional at home. The Tide went 3-0 and easily dispatched a highly overrated Boston College team in the regional final. Interim Head Coach Jason Jackson should lose the interim tag this offseason.

Coral Gables:
Just like football, this isn't the 90s anymore and Miami isn't a premier baseball team. Texas beat Miami twice on their way to perfect weekend perhaps setting up a huge super regional with rival Texas A&M

Palo Alto:
Texas A&M and Stanford have split a pair games with a winner-take-all rubber match scheduled 9:00 pm tonight. Stanford lost the meeting and has made their way through the losers bracket so their staff is stretched 9 innings more than the Aggies.

Baton Rouge:
This regional is a full day behind due to rain. LSU is in the driver seat with Oregon State needing two wins at Alex Box to move on. Game one is scheduled for 2:00 pm with a second game to follow if necessary.

Lexington:
Kentucky lost to Indiana on day two of the regional and have since rebounded to knock out West Virginia (and their Clemson alumnus head coach) and force a decisive third matchup with Indiana. First pitch is 6:00 pm. The winner will play either Oregon State or LSU.

Auburn:
The host Tigers fell flat going 0-2 in their own regional. Penn and Southern Miss remain. The veteran Golden Eagles are trying to accomplish the rare feat of losing their regional opener and winning four in a row to advance. Coming into this season only 27 teams have lost their first game and advanced out of the regional. USM and Penn play in the regional final at 3:00 pm.

Clemson:
Unfortunately someone had to win. Tennessee beat Clemson in 14 innings Saturday night in the best game of the entire tournament. Teams from the Palmetto State need to avoid playing Charlotte, they beat Carolina twice and knocked Clemson out of their regional before falling to Tennessee. The Vols are almost certain to get a super regional at home against either Penn or Southern Miss, despite USM having the larger stadium.

Gainesville:
This is the game that USC fans will be watching at work today. If Texas Tech can finish the job and get a second win over Florida, they will travel to Columbia next weekend. If Florida completes their run through the losers bracket. The Gamecocks head to Sunshine State. Regional finale is high noon on ESPNU.

Conway:
Like Southern Miss, Coastal lost their first game and has battled back winning three straight to force a winner-take-all with Duke today at 6:00 pm. Coastal was no-hitting 4th seed Rider through six, then fell apart after in the 7th allowing 9 runs. They would ultimately lose in extras. The Chants have scored 33 runs in their last three games and should be favored today as they have the better lineup.

Charlottesville:
UVA gets to sit back and wait for the Duke/Coastal winner. They won two games over a very good ECU team, going 3-0 on the weekend.

Nashville:
Sunday night, the whistling died. Xavier defeated Vandy knocking them from the tournament on their own field. The Vandy Boys went 1-2 this weekend. Oregon then smashed Xavier to set up a likely super regional in Eugene.

Stillwater:
Oral Roberts became the only 4-seed to advance to a super regional as they defeated every other team in the regional. ORU won the regional over Dallas Baptist in a 6-5 game that was one of the best of the weekend. ORU is 49-11 and was ridiculously under-seeded. Former Gamecock and Commodore Matt Hogan is having a career-year in Tulsa for the Golden Eagles.

Terre Haute:
The host Sycamores beat Iowa twice to advance to the super regional for the first time in school history. A super regional that they would host if TCU can beat Arkansas just one time today.

Fayetteville:
Arkansas is in a little trouble at home. TCU did what visiting teams just don't do in Fayetteville, pounding the Hogs 20-5. This regional is also day behind due to rain. Arkansas will have to beat TCU twice to advance. First game is at 3:00 pm on ESPNU. If there is game two, it won't start until 9:00 pm.
