There was a lot of speculation going around that Maddy McDaniel was entering the portal. She was not the player I thought entered but wanted to pass this along.

This team melts down every time. The last two innings are so predictable. . Bullpen sucks.

I’ve been slack on updates, because I’m currently in Key West, but Carolina is currently nicely positioned. Today is day 3 of 3 of the tournament before the first cut. The top 15 see tomorrow. Carolina is currently 6th at +5. They’ve been very good since the opening round +9. After tomorrow, the top 8 advance to match play.

Stanford is currently dominating the field at -23. That won’t matter come match play.

The Gamecocks have offered former Irmo standout Mason Collins, who was ranked No. 20 in ESPN’s Top 25 for the class of 2028. He currently holds an invite to Nike’s Elite Top 100 Camp as well as a tryout for the USA Basketball U16 team.

South Carolina was the first program to offer Collins, who now attends Christ School in Asheville, N.C.

Last night Max Fried, for the NY Yankees, got through the first inning on 5 pitches, against Seatle, one of the top offensive producing teams in MLB. Obviously, the absolute minimum is 3.

Thinkaboudit .... 1st inning, ... batters often take a first pitch or two when initially facing the new pitcher. These guys didn't. No Big Deal, just interesting & the lowest I ever heard..

This program is underneath the dumpster. Pay up hire a good coach and start over. Maneri isn’t the answer, time to admit he was a bad hire.

After last night's improbable walk-off victory, South Carolina goes for the series tonight against No. 1 LSU. Final series of the regular season is here. It's Paul Mainieri taking on his former team, the No. 1 ranked LSU Tigers here for three games. Gamecocks don't have much on the line this weekend, but will try to spring an upset and take a little momentum to the SEC Tournament. Couldn’t keep track this week but the men did advance to the NCAA Championships. The Gamecocks finished fifth in their regional finishing a shot ahead of Utah. First time to the Championship tournament since 2019.

The Gamecocks will make the program’s 22nd all-time appearance in the NCAA Championship next week at Omni La Costa. First round action gets underway Friday, May 23, two days after the women’s National Championship match. It’s been a successful first season under first-year head coach Rob Bradley as he’s led his team to a top-20 ranking most of the season thanks to now nine top-five finishes in the team’s 11 tournaments.

The big news for this one is that Ethan Petry is back in the lineup exactly two weeks after Paul Mainieri said his injury would keep him out 2-4 weeks. Credit Petry for fighting to get back when he definitely doesn't have to for a team in this shape given his personal future, but that one was a stunner. Here's the full lineup:

South Carolina baseball back at it today, playing two games at Auburn to wrap up the series with the weather looking bad down there tomorrow. Speaking of looking bad, South Carolina lost 24-2 yesterday. Here's the lineup for game one:

Both opened NCAA Tournament play this afternoon with 4-0 wins. The #13 overall seed men blanked VCU in Columbia and will play Florida State tomorrow at 10:00am.

The women shutout Kansas 4-0 and will play the winner of UNC/VCU tomorrow in Chapel Hill. Start time is TBA.
